Advanced Working Dog Training

Advanced work begins where obedience ends: distance control, complex sequencing, scent work and decision making under genuine operational pressure.

Distance and directional control

We train send-aways, directional handling, remote position changes and emergency stops at distance. These skills convert a well-behaved dog into a deployable one, and they demand precise criteria and heavy proofing.

  • Directional send-aways and box work
  • Remote downs and emergency stops at 50m+
  • Tracking and area search in varied terrain
  • Article indication and blind searches
  • Multi-behaviour sequencing under distraction

Tracking and search

Scent work is the most underused capability in most working dogs. We build footstep tracking on varied surfaces, aged tracks, article indication and open area search, developing both the dog's precision and the handler's ability to read line pressure and behaviour change.

Scenario training

Sequences are rehearsed as complete scenarios: vehicle exit, search, engagement, out, guard, transport and re-heel. Chaining under fatigue exposes the weak links that isolated drills hide.

Competition preparation

For sport handlers we prepare for IGP, mondioring and working trials, including routine construction, judge presentation, and pressure inoculation to trial conditions.

Frequently asked questions

What level does my dog need before starting?

Do you prepare dogs for IGP and mondioring?
