Working dog versus pet
A working dog is not simply a more energetic pet. It typically has higher drive, stronger nerve, greater environmental resilience and a substantially higher daily requirement for structured mental work. Placed in a home with no outlet, those same qualities create problems.
Do working dogs make good companions?
Many do, in the right household. The deciding factors are the honesty of the match, the daily commitment of the owner and the quality of the dog's temperament — never the breed name alone.
